I take a drink of the beer that I desperately needed after three days of trekking through the desert. "I don't know why I always end up so far away from a town," I mumble to myself downing the drink in one gulp. "Where is the nearest guild?" I ask the bar keep setting what few coins I had on the table. I don't know why when I start off in a new world I don't get crap for money or any starting supplies but I always start off with a beer. "Just down the road you'll see the sign." He says quickly picking up the coins and moving on. Exiting the little tavern I'm greeted by the desert heat and a blast of sun blinding me. "I desperately need to get out of this god-forsaken desert," I tell myself turning down the road in the direction the bar keep pointed.
- As Travis stepped through the guild door he could hear raucous laughter echoing through the halls as various mercenaries chatted and shared battle stories. Anything but excited to start anew at the lowest rank of a new guild, Travis steeled his resolve to enlist. "Well-- third times the charm I suppose." he thought. Thoughts of Truck-kun ending his adventure pre-maturely flashed through his mind. He shook it off, took a deep breath and approached the guild counter…
"How can I help you today?" A woman who was slightly taller than the counter asked in a sing-song voice. "I need to register as an adventure," I tell her ready to move this on already. "Fantastic, it's always great to have some new blood. Place your hand on the orb." She instructs pulling a round opal orb. For the briefest of movements, I could see the points in on her ear. "This will determine your skill and class." Let's see what shit I get this time. I thought placing my hand on the orb and it began to shine. A display comes up in front of me blocking the view of the women.

Travis stared at the screen in deep contemplation…
Great Level one again. I thought to myself starring at the display, and what the hell is life of the party. "Level one and it looks like we can start you off as a F rank. I do hope that you class comes out soon." She says interrupting my thoughts while placing a small card in front of me. This information was simple with my name level, rank, and class. "You can go over to the board and select anything of your rank or one above. Let me know if you have any questions." "Thank you." I tell her making my way to the board that she had pointed to and wall would have been a more appt description. Every job was different but there was one that caught my eye.
Travis looked at the massive wall of jobs specifically looking at D and F rank jobs. He knew he needed to make money quick so he could get some new equipment. A specific job caught his eye offering a hefty sum of cash. He picked it up and carefully studied it. "Reconnaissance requested of expected D rank area north of the settlement. Recommended party size: 1-3. Payment: 1 Gold Coin. Additional award available upon completion of job. Provider of Contract: (Unlisted)". "Recon should be an easy way to start, and a quick way to make a little money" Travis thought, paying little mind to the fact that the job was assigned as a D-rank task.
I pluck the page off the wall and bring it to the front counter, sliding it to the receptionist. "I'll take this one." I corks a eye brow at me, "Normally people don't take one rank above for their first mission." She looks at me for a moment and lets out a sigh. "Alright I've assigned it to you."
Quest Recon a D rank area
Time: 03:00:00
Reward: 100 Gold coin
Addition Quest: Undiscovered
Reward: Unknown
I lift a brow at the unknown reward but close the screen anyway. No way of guessing what that would be. "Which way is the recon area."
"Its a field a mile northwest from here. It'll be marked by a large oak tree." I gives me another once over like I'm not coming back. "Good Luck"
Travis awoke. sight blurry, ears ringing. He shook his head to snap out of it. His eyes focused to see only ruin all around him. The destroyed pieces of familiar architecture all around told him that he was still in his work building, but staring up at the night sky to see two moons told him an entirely different story. He stood shaking dust out of his clothes looking around his immediate are he realized the terrain was completely unknown to him.
He swore for a moment he could hear the sound of a truck engine barreling off into the distance but couldn't tell if it was real or only in his head. There were no vehicle tracks anywhere to be to seen. A single inscription on the ground written in what he believed to be Japanese Kanji. "Truck-kun?" he mumbled. Surprising himself that he could suddenly read the foreign language. Images of all of his favorite shows flashed through his mind. He'd heard the name before but it was always just a legend before. annnnd i got busy again damn
He turns his head up and screams in to the sky, "God damn Truck-kun. How many times are you going to kill me." This wasn't the first time Truck-kun had be yelled to the sky by him. This was the third time I had been sent to another world and I was beginning to thing that it was intention or a vendetta.
"Awww, and I was just starting to enjoy the last one" Travis thought. "I wonder what overpowered ability comes with this world" he muttered under his breath. Travis stared up once more at the two moons illuminating the night sky before steeling himself for the road that lies ahead.
